In the initial stages of the game Avowed, numerous powerful weapons are hidden and ready for players to discover. These weapons vary greatly in appearance and often don’t have stringent stat prerequisites for use, which can make them more accessible compared to some RPGs where exceptional gear might be unobtainable due to stat or level restrictions. This aspect can sometimes prove frustrating in role-playing games.
In the world of Avowed, it’s not always the case that the best loot is hidden behind side quests, although many of them do hold some top-tier equipment. Interestingly, there are also weapons just waiting to be discovered lying around. Let me guide you through where these legendary treasures can be found.
7. Caeroc’s Pride (Handgun)
Catching Lightning In A Pistol
- Location: Ondra’s Reach
- Quest: Tempestuous Luandi (Bounty)
In this fantasy game, “The Caeroc’s Pride” is a pistol infused with magic that summons lightning. It can be employed to jolt open gates by connecting them to devices or when submerged in water, anyone entering the affected area will receive an electric shock. Keep in mind that guns like pistols and muskets in this game require reloading after each shot, so players should not expect a fast-paced shooter experience similar to Destiny. Instead, they should seek out and vanquish the bounty named Tempestuous Luandi, who dwells to the east of Paradis within Ondra’s Reach. Once defeated, players must then search his remains for loot.
6. Drawn In Winter (Hand Axe)
Ice, Ice, Skeleton Baby

- Location: Watcher’s Mirror
- Quest: Ancient Memory
In the game Avowed, a one-handed axe called Drawn in Winter is infused with ice magic. This weapon can be obtained early on by players. It has the ability to chill enemies after multiple strikes or even freeze small bodies of water. To locate Watcher’s Mirror, players must advance to the easternmost part of the map.
To advance, they should first view The Ancient Memory, respond to some queries, then a pillar will emerge from the adjacent lake with an axe embedded in it. Once they’ve retrieved the axe, skeletons will appear but there’s no need for concern as they are simple and there’s no Bone Mama to cause trouble.
5. Last Light Of Day (Sword)
Burning The Heavens

- Location: Temple of Eothas
- Quest: Dawntreader
Devoted gamers have the opportunity to acquire the pre-release version of Last Light of Day, which is a powerful one-handed flame-infused sword. This weapon can be utilized to incinerate enemies or melt through obstacles such as spiderwebs. It’s an effective choice when used in combination with a shield, a common strategy in RPGs. Players must initially journey to the region marked as Pilgrim’s Path, where they can embark on the Dawntreader side quest. This lengthy mission offers numerous rewards; however, a quick summary is that it will lead players to the Temple of Eothas. If they decide to engage in combat with a character named Sargamis, he will drop the sword upon defeat.
4. Magical Grimoires
An Easy Cheat In Wizardry

- Location: Varied
In this game, there are several skill paths to choose from, and the one you select will determine the character class for the Envoy. The spells in the game are potent and beneficial for exploration purposes, yet players can still employ magic due to magical books known as Grimoires. There are two exceptional Grimoires worth noting, but they both demand investment into the Wizard skill tree to access higher Mastery levels. Anextli’s Grimoire is discoverable near Ivona’s Threshold from a slain NPC, while Beothel’s Grimoire can be bought from a shopkeeper named Merylin in Paradis. Notably, the Common Grimoire of Elements is a common item and doesn’t necessitate any Masteries. It can be obtained from most weapon shops or found in the Ruinous Cavern on the western side of Paradis, beyond its gates. Players have the opportunity to engage in another bounty hunt here in Avowed: Nacib.
3. The Philosopher’s Riddle (Greatsword)
Swinging Into Poison

- Location: Castol’s Folly
In the game, you won’t find The Philosopher’s Riddle as part of a side quest; rather, it’s casually resting among some rocks on the eastern side of the map, near the ruins in Castol’s Folly. This two-handed Greatsword is infused with poison, which means it will gradually harm any enemy you encounter. If you’re familiar with RPGs, you’ll know this is a beneficial attribute, especially when facing bosses with high health. However, keep in mind that due to its size and power, it might not be as quick to wield as other weapons.
2. Seven Strivings (Greataxe)
Building Momentum

- Location: The Falls
- Quest: Ralga (Bounty)
The Two-Handed Axe, known as The Seven Strivings, bears a resemblance to a racket, much like Garnet’s equipment in Final Fantasy 9. However, despite its appearance, it functions as an axe. Interestingly, it’s often found close by, although it’s technically tied to a side quest.
To the north on the map lies The Falls, where players encounter the formidable bounty called Ralga. This battle is challenging due to Ralga’s immense size, but if players possess The Philosopher’s Riddle beforehand, it makes the fight less daunting. After defeating Ralga and his minions, players can discover the Seven Strivings near some deceased bodies. Acquiring these artifacts will enhance a player’s speed upon kills and bolster their critical attack damage.
1. Sheathed In Summer (Dagger)
Another Fiery Blade

- Location: Godless Ruins
- Quest: Octav The Firebrand (Bounty)
In the early stages of the game, one exceptional weapon worth noting is called “Sheathed in Summer.” This side quest falls under the bounty category within the game Avowed, and it centers around a dwarf named Octav The Firebrand, who can be found to the north in the Godless Ruins. To acquire this dagger, players simply need to search Octav’s corpse. Similar to the Last Light of Day, Sheathed in Summer is infused with fire magic. Although daggers don’t have a long range, they are swift and can quickly strike an enemy. This makes them an ideal companion for a Grimoire, as players must wait for cooldowns following spell castings.
