As someone who has spent years advocating for workers’ rights, I find it disheartening to witness such blatant disregard for labor laws by influential figures like Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Their actions, or rather words in this case, are not only unacceptable but also illegal under the National Labor Relations Act.
The United Auto Workers union is filing labor complaints against Elon Musk and Donald Trump. This week, Musk invited Trump to a live conversation on Twitter Space, where they discussed Trump’s plans for future presidency and current election status. During this discussion, Trump commended Elon Musk for his practice of dismissing workers who attempt to strike or organize within his companies. The UAW claims that these words were intended to threaten workers and potentially break federal laws under the National Labor Relations Act.
The United Automobile Workers (UAW) publicly shared their accusations against Elon Musk and Donald Trump on social media platforms. During their conversation, they discussed various subjects such as Trump’s anti-immigrant sentiments, his claims that Russia wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine and Hamas wouldn’t have attacked Israel under his presidency, but it was a remark about Musk’s past interactions with labor unions and strikes that provoked their anger.
According to federal regulations, it’s unlawful to dismiss employees for participating in a strike, and making such threats is also prohibited by the National Labor Relations Act.

As a fan, I’d put it this way: “I can’t help but notice your approach,” I said to Musk during our conversation about workers’ rights. “You simply ask if they wish to leave, and if they decide to strike – without naming the company – they do so, and you respond by saying, ‘That’s fine. You’re all out.’ And with that, everyone is gone.”
According to the UAW, this remark from Musk and his failure to challenge it can be seen as threats and intimidation against workers who might choose to unionize or go on strike. The UAW also argues that these actions could potentially breach the National Labor Relations Act, making both Musk and Trump at odds with federal regulations regarding labor rights.
As a fervent fan, I’ve noticed that when it comes to concerns raised by workers, Elon Musk often reacts with his signature brisk dismissal of matters he finds unfavorable. Now, the intriguing interplay between the UAW, Trump, and Musk is unfolding, so keep a close eye for more developments in this fascinating storyline.
