Ultrahand comes to The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom as the Bind ability

As a seasoned adventurer who’s traversed Hyrule countless times, from the original Zelda to the latest Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, I must say that the new mechanics showcased in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom have me thoroughly intrigued.

As a dedicated gamer, I just can’t contain my excitement after catching wind of the latest trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom! It’s jam-packed with tantalizing sneak peeks into the mechanics and thrilling escapades that await us in this game. Two abilities, in particular, caught my eye – they’re reminiscent of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on them! They go by the names Bind and Reverse Bond. With these bad boys at our disposal, we’ll be able to seize objects and foes, manipulate them, and even let them transport us around the game world. It’s like a dream come true for any gamer who loves a bit of creative problem-solving!

In the Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom trailer titled “Traversing Hyrule,” we were introduced to the abilities Bind and Reverse Bond. These skills were demonstrated, giving us our initial glimpse. The Bind ability allows you to seize virtually any object in the game world and move with it. This can range from small pebbles, immovable boulders, and even enemies. Zelda’s movement will influence the movement of the grabbed entity. In the video, we observed that this power can be used strategically, such as maneuvering an enemy over a cliff and dropping them or discovering a path previously unreachable through conventional means.

Reverse Bond works similarly to Bind except it gives control of motion to the object Zelda interacts with. When the object moves, Zelda will move correspondingly with it. In another instance, Zelda grabbed a floating platform overhead with Reverse Bond, and when it moved sideways, it lifted her over a long gap. Both Bind and Reverse Bond seem to be altered versions of Ultrahand from Tears of the Kingdom and Magnesis from Breath of the Wild. We won’t be assembling things from the world with Bind, but we also won’t be confined to interacting with just metal objects together as we grab and move things about to our benefit in Hyrule. In fact, you can even Bind and Reverse Bond to Echoes you’ve collected to help you overcome obstacles in unique ways.

As a long-time fan of The Legend of Zelda series, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming game, “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” set to release in September 2024. Having grown up with these games and cherishing each new adventure, I’m particularly intrigued by the news that various Zoras will be joining forces in this installment.
