As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that witnessing the launch of yet another NFT game, Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles, has been a rollercoaster ride, to put it mildly. The excitement of diving into a new multiplayer turn-based RPG was quickly overshadowed by the unfortunate reports of a malicious player exploiting an issue in the game, rendering it essentially unplayable for many.
Last week, Ubisoft stealthily debuted an NFT-based game, yet it seems that the game’s launch hasn’t gone smoothly. Known as Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles, this competitive multiplayer turn-based RPG has encountered issues, with a particular player causing trouble by overwhelming other players to compete against them and ultimately winning before the game properly starts.
Last week saw the stealthy debut of Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles, accompanied by a comprehensive website. In this captivating game, players gather, create, and amplify characters that serve as the non-fungible token (NFT) aspect. These figures are then pitted against other players’ collections in tactical turn-based conflicts. Each clash permits the deployment of three figures, each with distinct skills and talents. Regrettably, it appears that a player may be taking advantage of an in-game problem to disrupt enjoyment, as reported by Twitter user Jauwnio.
As an enthusiastic fan, I gave Ubisoft’s NFT game a shot over the weekend, but unfortunately, it’s been utterly unplayable for me since then. It seems there’s a crafty player out there who has discovered a trick to win every single match before the game even starts! And here’s the strange part: I keep getting matched against this same individual in every single game.

Since November 1st, 2024, the entire game has been inoperable due to a malicious player who appears to have discovered a method to win every match before it starts. This player also seems to be the only one that other players face during matches. [Jauwnio’s statement]
The game, Champions Tactics, is reported to have undergone a closed beta test, but it’s clear that there are still many unpolished areas that need improvement. It’s puzzling why Ubisoft chose to launch the game so discreetly, especially given their decision last year to scale back on NFT plans when they were more popular.
Regardless, it appears that Champions Tactics may need some adjustments soon to prevent cheating from spoiling the enjoyment. Keep an eye out for more information as we monitor the situation and bring you additional news.
