As a seasoned K-pop fan with over two decades of listening and attending concerts under my belt, I must say that TWS has certainly made a splash in the industry. Their debut was a breath of fresh air, much like the sparkling blue and summer beats they’ve been dishing out.
Back in 2024, I found myself captivated by a fresh face in the K-pop scene – none other than Pledis Entertainment’s debut group, TWS. With their innovative concepts and top-notch vocals, they quickly won over my heart (and many others). As the TWS fandom continues to grow, it’s only natural that new fans might be curious about what TWS actually stands for. So, without further ado, let me share some insight!
Following SEVENTEEN’s global success under Pledis Entertainment, fans were eager to hear what TWS would bring musically. The latest generations of Korean pop acts have been pushing boundaries with innovative genres. Nevertheless, TWS seems to be staying relatively close to the familiar “K-pop” sound.
Rather than having a fixed motto, this group focuses on providing fresh, vibrant tunes and entertaining ideas that continue to captivate their audience. In just seven months after its launch, TWS released two extended plays – Sparkling Blue and Summer Beat. Both these EPs achieved an impressive milestone, selling over half a million copies each within a week of release, and topping the Circle Album Chart.
just saw TWS at iheart, so talented!

TWS meaning: What does the K-pop boy group name mean?
TWS, the latest rookie group from Pledis Entertainment, derives its name from the phrase “Twenty-Four Seven With Us”. This name signifies every single moment. The number 24 symbolizes each hour of a day, while the number seven represents a week, collectively suggesting ‘always’ or ‘every moment’.
Pledis Entertainment expresses that Twice’s purpose is to be an inseparable part of their audience, using music as a means to create extraordinary moments that surpass ordinary life and transcend time and space. In essence, they aim to make everyday experiences between the public and fans feel unique and memorable.
TWS is truly living up to its reputation as a non-stop powerhouse for fans. They’ve been making waves with performances at events like KCON LA 2024 and iHeartRadio Theater. One standout moment was their cover of BTS Jungkook’s hit “3D” at KCON LA, demonstrating TWS’s ability to shine in the world of K-pop. Their vibrant energy on stage and impressive dance moves hint at a bright future for this dynamic group.
Following the triumph of KCON LA, members Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin from TWS are set to appear on Fuji TV’s weekly music program, Shukan Nainai Music, on August 8. The taping will take place at the Island Stadium in Odaiba Adventure King Adventure Land.
