Two New Video Games Based On The Iconic Halloween Series In The Works, Carpenter Involved

As a lifelong fan of the original Halloween movie and someone who has spent countless nights jumping at every creak and shadow since I first saw that iconic masked figure stalking through Haddonfield, this news is simply electrifying! Forty years have passed since we last had a video game based on this horror classic, and it’s about time we revisit the terrifying world of Michael Myers.

Game development team Boss Team Games is currently creating two fresh video game adaptations of the iconic 1978 horror film “Halloween,” as reported by IGN. Notably, the original movie’s celebrated director, John Carpenter, is participating in this project as well.

After 40 Years, Finally New Halloween Games

Boss Team Games CEO Steve Harris recently told IGN that they are working on two Halloween games.

They didn’t provide details on the release date or genre. However, since Steve Harris hinted at their work with Unreal Engine 5 and a focus on recreating scenes from the movie and allowing players to control famous characters from one of the most influential horror films ever made, it could potentially be another asymmetric multiplayer game similar to “Evil Dead: The Game” or “Dead by Daylight.”

It’s been quite some time since we’ve had a new video game based on Halloween; the last one came out all the way back in 1983, designed for the Atari 2600.

Carpenter Becoming A Video Game Director?

Steve Harris revealed that John Carpenter will be “intimately involved”. He told IGN:

“As a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly,”

Well, we’re hoping too, mister Carpenter.
