Twitch extends deadline for 100 hour storage limit for VODs to May

This year, Twitch stirred up content creators by revealing plans to cap video uploads at 100 hours per account. With streamers hurriedly saving their Video on Demand (VOD) content, Twitch has now pushed back the deadline to May 19th.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled about the latest update from Twitch! They’ve extended the deadline and shared some exciting improvements. Now, they’ve boosted download speeds, enhanced exports, and expanded the bulk selection from 20 to a whopping 100 items. This should make it a breeze for creators like me when we download content onto our personal storage. Plus, Twitch hinted that certain websites limit daily video downloads, which seems to be another reason for this thoughtful decision. I can’t wait to see how these changes streamline my gaming experience!

📣 We’re pushing back the due date to May 19th, 2025. We understand this adjustment might be challenging, but we’ve made some enhancements to make your experience smoother. These improvements include faster download speeds, easier exports, and increasing the bulk selection limit from 20 to 100 for deleting or downloading your highlights.

Starting from May 19, any content on Twitch exceeding 100 hours will be automatically deleted. Following this, users will no longer have the ability to upload videos beyond the 100-hour limit.

For more than ten years, Twitch has been a part of our lives, and since its recent change, numerous streamers have voiced their dissatisfaction. A multitude of these streamers filled the comments section of the initial announcement, expressing concerns that this update could potentially disadvantage speedrunners or content creators who have amassed years’ worth of videos.
