Twisters Clips Preview Disaster Sequel’s Action-Packed Tornado Sequences

As a hardcore fan of disaster movies and someone who grew up watching the original Twister back in the ’90s, I am beyond excited for Universal Pictures’ upcoming sequel, Twisters! The new clips they have recently released offer an adrenaline rush that instantly takes me back to my childhood.

Universal Pictures has recently unveiled fresh previews of the impending disaster movie follow-up to the classic 1996 film “Twister.” These sneak peeks were released in preparation for the much-awaited cinema debut on July 19, 2023.

What happens in the Twisters clips?

The clips provide a peek at the thrilling tornado scenes in the movie. In these moments, Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones’ characters assist a family in evacuating a motel just before it is struck by a massive tornado. Since its debut in London last week, the film has earned a Certified Fresh rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes from 98 reviews.

I’m thrilled about the upcoming movie “Twisters,” which I’ve learned is directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the brilliant mind behind “Minari.” The script for this film is penned by Mark L. Smith. I can’t wait to see Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane, Kiernan Shipka, Harry Hadden-Paton, Nik Dodani, Tunde Adebimpe, Katy O’Brian, and David Corenswet bring their talents to the big screen. This production is being spearheaded by Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley, with Steven Spielberg adding his expertise as an executive producer through Amblin Entertainment.

“Edgar-Jones portrays Kate Cooper, a past storm chaser traumatized by an encounter with a tornado in her college days. Now residing in New York City, she analyzes storm patterns on screens for safety. Her friend Javi (Ramos) invites her to the open plains to trial a revolutionary tracking technology. Upon arrival, Kate encounters Tyler Owens (Powell), a charismatic and daring social media sensation who loves filming his thrilling storm-chasing escapades. As the storm season escalates, unprecedented weather phenomena emerge, placing Kate, Tyler, and their rival teams in the midst of numerous converging storms in central Oklahoma, battling for survival.”
