In a move that has caused more than a few raised eyebrows, Trump Media and Technology Group Corp. (TMTG), the parent company of the rather curious Truth Social, has decided to dip its toes into the choppy waters of finance. With a collection of investment products under the Truth.Fi banner, TMTG is making a bold foray into the world of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and separately managed accounts (SMAs). One can only imagine the sort of excitement this will cause among the chaps at the club.
The new financial endeavors include such delightful sounding products as the Truth.Fi Made in America ETF, the Truth.Fi US Energy Independence ETF, and the rather intriguingly named Truth.Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF. These funds are aimed at investors who have grown weary of the mainstream financial scene and are looking for something a bit more patriotic. TMTG plans to throw a rather substantial $250 million at this venture, which will be looked after by Charles Schwab, a financial services giant who presumably knows what he’s about.
TMTG has also entered into an agreement with Yorkville Advisors, a firm that will be instrumental in navigating the regulatory maze. If all goes well, Yorkville will be the Registered Investment Advisor, ensuring that everything is tickety-boo and above board.
Nunes Takes on the ‘Woke Funds’
Devin Nunes, the CEO and Chairman of TMTG, has come out swinging against what he calls ‘woke funds’. He claims that TMTG aims to provide investors with an alternative to a financial system that has become rather too political for his liking. He’s keen on creating opportunities in American energy, manufacturing, and firms that can give the ‘woke funds’ a good run for their money.
“We aim to give investors a means to invest in American energy, manufacturing, and other firms that provide a competitive alternative to the woke funds and debanking problems that you find throughout the market,” Nunes said with a rather determined look in his eye.
Nunes also hinted at some rather innovative financial strategies, including bitcoin-related investments. It seems TMTG is determined to align its product suite with investors who are all about the ‘America First’ principle.
Yorkville President Mark Angelo is fully on board with this idea, expressing his delight at being a part of the Truth.Fi movement. One can only wonder if he’s aware of what he’s getting himself into.
“Yorkville is pleased to take this next important step with TMTG in its development of America First investment vehicles. We greatly value our position as a strategic financial partner to TMTG and are proud to join with TMTG in the Truth.Fi movement.”
Trump’s Crypto Antics
President Donald Trump has been making quite a splash in the cryptocurrency pond ever since he publicly embraced Bitcoin. His administration recently signed an executive order to explore a strategic digital asset reserve, which has caused more than a few heads to turn.
One of Trump’s crypto ventures, the DeFi protocol World Liberty, has been up to some rather interesting antics. They’ve moved a whopping 90% of their treasury, including a fair bit of ETH and WBTC, which must have kept the accountants rather busy. World Liberty managed to raise $254 million just before Trump took office, though their WLFI token sale did slow down a bit before reaching its goal.
There have been whispers that World Liberty has been in talks with blockchain projects about swapping protocol tokens for a fee, but the team has denied these claims. In the meantime, Trump-branded products have started accepting official Trump and Melania memecoins as payment, which just goes to show how things have changed in the world of business.
