Ever since President Donald Trump took office in January, tariffs have been a hot topic in the tech world, with the president targeting numerous foreign countries to stimulate domestic production in the U.S. Now, even tech giants like Apple are feeling the heat, as they could potentially face a 25% tariff on iPhones if they don’t start manufacturing them here in America. As a fan, I’m keeping a close eye on how this unfolds!
This morning, Donald Trump posted a message on his own social media platform, Truth Social, indicating plans to impose tariffs on Apple’s iPhone products.
Apple’s flagship device, the iPhone, is responsible for a significant portion of the company’s earnings. The fear of tariffs triggered by Trump led to a drop in Apple (AAPL) shares as soon as trading began today, with the stock reaching a low of $193.80 compared to its closing value of $201.36 yesterday.
Just last week, I got some exciting news as a gaming enthusiast. Our beloved tech giant, Apple, announced they’ve kicked off the process of procuring manufacturing components for their iPhones in India and Vietnam! It’s a significant move, and it feels like we’re stepping into a new era of innovation together.
