A video produced by artificial intelligence, featuring an imagined makeover of Gaza, has stirred up debates following its dissemination on Donald Trump’s Truth Social network. The footage, presenting Gaza as a luxurious vacation spot, received harsh criticism from various parties, even among some of Trump’s own followers. Despite Trump not providing any accompanying remarks, the post has generated considerable opposition.
What did Donald Trump upload on his social media?
Donald Trump received backlash for publishing an AI-made video on his Truth Social network, titled “Gaza 2025… What Comes Next?” In this video, Gaza is depicted as a future high-end travel destination, featuring modern skyscrapers, yachts, and coastal resorts – a stark contrast to its current war-ravaged state.
In this video, President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are casually enjoying cocktails together, with a striking golden statue of Trump standing tall amidst an urban backdrop. Notably, tech mogul Elon Musk is spotted in the same clip, first seen munching on flatbread and later dancing exuberantly as if money were showering down around him.
Nevertheless, the video has drawn intense criticism from various quarters, as critics find it offensive and potentially serving as a guide for ethnic cleansing. Some have accused Trump of disregarding the plight of Gaza’s population by advocating such a vision. Even Trump’s supporters, including some Christian conservatives, expressed concerns, with some finding the golden idol-like figure problematic.
I can’t help but express my disapproval over the content of this video shared on Truth Social. The depiction is in extremely bad taste, and I find it utterly appalling. The gold statue, regardless of how it’s presented, is completely wrong in my opinion. This video evokes a sense of disgust within me.
Another user voiced their concern by stating that the video is highly insensitive given the lives lost and innocent people still buried beneath the rubble. They requested immediate removal of this content.
Basem Naim, a representative of Hamas, fiercely condemned the video, stating to Newsweek that it overlooks the genuine struggles of Palestinians. He further added, “Regrettably, Trump’s proposals yet again fail to consider the customs and needs of the local populace.
