Trisha Krishnan boasts an extraordinary following in the realm of South Indian films. Notably, she’s been responsible for some blockbuster movies that have captivated audiences. Lately, her cop series, Brinda, left viewers spellbound. Interestingly, you might be surprised to learn that the star of “Ponniyin Selvan I” had reservations about diving into online streaming platforms. However, the director of the project has now shared the story behind Trisha’s decision to join the team.
While chatting on Zoom, filmmaker Surya Manoj Vangala shared that he initially emailed Trisha a 100-page manuscript, which resembled a novel. Given her love for reading, it proved convenient for her to go through it during her flights. In his own words, “Fortunately, she didn’t have a book with her at the moment. She reads extensively and she went over the script.”
As he continued, Surya shared that he never held any expectation that Trisha would eventually consent to work on the project, given her previous statement about avoiding OTT (Over-The-Top) platforms.
After carefully reviewing the script on her flight, she found herself fully convinced and gave her approval, indicated by a nod. Discussing further, the filmmaker explained, “Once the document is completed, she might be interested in providing narration. She contacted me directly and said, ‘I’m ready to take on the project.'” (In this paraphrase, I’ve aimed to simplify the language and sentence structure while maintaining the original meaning.)
In a matter of only a few short days since its debut, Trisha’s performance as a police officer in Brinda has captivated her fans with her acting versatility. For those not in the know, this suspenseful series can be found on the streaming service, SonyLIV.
Regarding Trisha’s professional ventures, her upcoming project involves joining the cast of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie titled ‘Spirit’. In this film, she will be portraying the leading female role alongside Prabhas.
