As a hardcore gamer and sports enthusiast who’s always on the lookout for crossovers between my passions, I can’t help but feel like I’ve stumbled upon an alternate dimension where dreams come true! Travis Kelce, the NFL star with a heart of gold and a knack for making every appearance memorable, is officially joining forces with none other than Adam Sandler in the highly anticipated sequel to “Happy Gilmore.”
Once more, the star of appearances makes his mark! Following speculation about his involvement in the upcoming sequel to Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore”, it has now been confirmed that Travis Kelce will indeed make a cameo appearance in the Netflix film. Sandler revealed Kelce’s role in “Happy Gilmore 2” during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon.
Back in May 2024, I shared my excitement about potentially being part of the sequel on my “New Heights” podcast. I declared, “Sign me up as an extra! Just give me a chance to be around Happy Gilmore or any Adam Sandler production, and I’m there.” You see, I’m a massive fan of the “Sandman,” so much so that I donned a “Happy Gilmore” hat while attending Coachella with my girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
As I excitedly chatted on The Tonight Show to drum up interest for my upcoming Netflix comedy special, Adam Sandler: Love You (dropping Aug. 27), I couldn’t help but spill some intriguing details about Happy Gilmore 2! This long-awaited sequel will kick off filming in New Jersey in just a couple of weeks, and let me tell you, we’ve got some amazing surprises in store! Not only are professional golfers set to make an appearance, but three-time Super Bowl champion athletes have also been lined up for cameos. Can’t wait for you all to see it!
Travis, he mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by, and he’s a very nice guy, you guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud, and he’s so funny.

Despite being famed for his prowess on the football field as a star athlete, Kelce is equally recognized for taking to the golf course during off-seasons and participating in charity golf tournaments. Notably, this past summer, Kelce partnered with his retired Philadelphia Eagles center brother, Jason Kelce, in the ACC Celebrity Golf Championship. Evidently, he demonstrates his versatility in sports beyond just football.
In the sequel, Sandler didn’t disclose if Kelce would be portraying his own character or someone else that he might meet on the golf course. Despite the potential scheduling challenges due to the Kansas City Chiefs starting their regular season on September 5, it’s likely they can find a way to fit Kelce’s cameo into the schedule, considering they have a bye week in October.
In his latest venture, Zach Ertz (formerly Happy Gilmore) is diving deeper into acting and screen appearances, venturing beyond his NFL career. He’s landed a part in the Ryan Murphy horror series titled “Grotesquerie,” airing September 25 on FX, and he’ll also be hosting the game show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” premiering October 16 on Amazon Prime Video.
Apart from the two series due this autumn, Kelce has secured his debut as a leading actor in a film. On August 20th, it was announced that he will star in the upcoming action-comedy “Loose Cannons.” This project is produced by Chad Stahleski, known for “John Wick,” and penned by Tim Dowling, who collaborated with Adam Sandler on the romantic comedy “Just Go with It.”
Before “Happy Gilmore 2” officially debuts on Netflix in 2025, you can catch Zachary Thomas Kelce on the streaming service this Christmas. That’s because Netflix will broadcast two NFL games during the holiday season, with the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas day, an event exclusive to Netflix viewers. It’s an exciting time for Kelce’s fans (and Taylor Swift’s too!).
