As a longtime fan of suspenseful and action-packed TV shows, I was absolutely thrilled when “Tracker,” starring Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, premiered on CBS following the Super Bowl in 2024. With my heart pounding in anticipation, I watched as Hartley’s character, an expert tracker skilled in finding lost items and missing persons, traveled across the country to assist those in need.
As a gamer, I can tell you that a significant aspect of Colter’s past revolves around his intricate family background. My father, who was a professor, made an unexpected decision to uproot us and live off the grid. He taught my brother Russell and me essential survival skills to help us thrive in our new secluded environment. Unfortunately, one day, we found him deceased at the bottom of a cliff. Instantly, I harbored suspicions towards Russell, which created a deep rift between us.
In Season 1, Colter met up with his sister Dory, played by Melissa Roxburgh, who was cautious about investigating their father’s past as a college professor. Later on, Colter encountered Russell, portrayed by Jensen Ackles from “Supernatural,” who denied involvement in their father’s demise. However, the final episode left us without further interaction with either sibling. It seems that Season 2 will bring the family together again for some reason.

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour in 2024, Hartley and showrunner Elwood Reid announced that Jensen Ackles will reappear in season 2, portraying the character of Russell.
Hartley announced, “We’ve got Ackles coming back,” but he remained vague about the number of episodes. Reid later clarified, “It’s more than just one episode.”

As a long-time fan of both “Gilmore Girls” and “Supernatural,” I’m thrilled to hear that Milo Ventimiglia (Roxburgh) and Jensen Ackles will be returning to their respective roles in new projects, while also finding time for potential guest appearances on each other’s shows.
As a longtime fan of suspenseful dramas, I can’t help but be intrigued by the upcoming season of this show. With Colter and Russell’s mysterious pasts shrouded in darkness, it’ll be thrilling to uncover what secrets their father left behind. Russell’s character seems to always find himself embroiled in perilous situations, and I have a feeling he might drag his brother into another mess.
As a longtime fan of the captivating series “Tracker,” I’m thrilled to share my perspective on the upcoming season 2, which promises to be even more intriguing than the first. Although we’re still in the dark about how many episodes Jared Padalecki (Ackles) and Matthew Rhys (Roxburgh) will appear due to their other commitments, I can’t help but feel excited at the prospect of seeing the Shaw siblings reunited for a unique road trip.
