It’s almost time for Tony Hawk and his companions to return to the skate park for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4. To heighten the anticipation even more, Activision and Iron Galaxy have unveiled their upcoming remake during this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. In addition to witnessing more of the thrilling arcade-style skating action that made the originals so enjoyable, fans were treated to some fresh disclosures. The most significant among these is that a playable demo is accessible right now.
It seems that Iron Galaxy has finished developing the new remake, showcasing two fresh tracks during this year’s Summer Game Fest event. One of these is Movie Studio, an exciting Competition park modeled after a Hollywood backlot. In this environment, players can execute tricks on the quarter-pipes and half-pipes positioned along the studio wall, glide over the tram tracks scattered across the ground, and knock over catering tables to build impressive combos. The second new track is Pinball, a massive pinball table themed around zombies and dinosaurs. In this game, players can gain speed using turbo pads, navigate various pinball tracks, and dodge live balls (and the occasional multi-ball) while gathering S-K-A-T-E and C-O-M-B-O letters.
Besides what Iron Galaxy unveiled this weekend, there’s more to share about the full game. A new character from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is joining the roster – it’s Michelangelo, styled like the Mikey from the latest Mutant Mayhem film. This cool turtle has unique voice lines of his own and will exclaim “Cowabunga” when you pull off an incredible trick.
For the demonstration, participants will have an opportunity to traverse the Foundry and College levels, and they may choose between playing as Tony Hawk or Rayssa Leal. It is worth mentioning that individuals who have pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition can enjoy a unique experience by testing out the demo using their exclusive Doom Slayer character.
Iron Galaxy is pouring significant work into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Notably, many elements for creating custom parks are being incorporated into the game, enabling players not only to design their own stages but also to include objectives and non-player characters. However, keep in mind that designing custom parks follows the guidelines of Super Mario Maker, so any objectives added to a personal park must be accomplished by the creator before they can be shared.
In just over a month, Tony Hawk will take to the skatepark once more. The highly anticipated Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is set for release across various platforms including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and both Nintendo Switch and its successor, on July 11th.
