As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for both horror and romantic comedies, I must say that Your Monster piqued my interest right from the get-go! The transformation of Tommy Dewey into the titular monster is nothing short of impressive, and the 30-second clip only whet my appetite for more.

Looking forward to sharing with you a unique sneak peek of Tommy Dewey’s transformation into the Monster character! Joining him in this horror-romantic comedy film is Melissa Barrera. The movie, distributed by Vertical Entertainment, hits theaters today!

The brief Your Monster clip highlights the intricate makeup and prosthetic preparations undertaken to transform the actor for each scene. Notably, Dewey has been featured lately in Saturday Night as Michael O’Donoghue, and earlier in Pivoting. Interestingly, he portrayed the Monster character in the 2020 short film serving as the basis for this movie.

The official summary for the movie explains that it focuses on Laura Franco, played by Melissa Barrera, a quiet actress who gets dumped by her long-term partner, Edmund Donovan, during her recovery from surgery. To heal, she returns to her childhood home. However, things take a turn when she learns that her ex is producing a musical they’d developed together. In the midst of these difficult life events, a monster named Tommy Dewey appears, with whom Laura forms an unusual bond. This connection inspires her to pursue her dreams, embrace her feelings, and even fall in love with her inner anger.
