It’s been confirmed that Crystal Dynamics has been working on the next game for years, and a leaker who claimed to have inside information about Tomb Raider 12 now suggests they “can foresee an announcement arriving soon.

Back in May 2024, I came across some intriguing whispers about Tomb Raider 12 from a movie leaker known as VScooper. He dropped hints about an upcoming adventure set in an open-world India, where our fearless Lara Croft is reportedly engaged in a high-stakes race against a secret society of tomb raiders and other formidable rivals, all vying for powerful relics. Exciting times ahead!

The source revealed that “The Society of Pillagers draws inspiration from Lara but operates independently,” and they’re planning to introduce a “new game aspect focused on recruiting teams and allies to tactically assist you in operations.” Additionally, it was hinted at a focus on a “prominent new non-violent combat alternative.

Furthermore, the source asserted that players would enjoy “extensive landscapes,” have “unrestricted access” to motorcycles, parachutes, and standard navigation techniques used by Lara to freely explore a vast map and its obstacles.


It’s important to note that the information isn’t confirmed yet. VScooper, who is known for leaking movies and has a history of verified leaks related to the film industry, has shared details about Tomb Raider 12. Whether these details will prove accurate remains to be seen.

We currently have limited details about Tomb Raider 12. However, we do know that Crystal Dynamics is developing it once again, Amazon Games will publish the game, and they are utilizing Unreal Engine 5 for its development. Additionally, the new installment presents a unified Lara Croft, with her adventures in the survivor trilogy acknowledged as the foundation of her tomb raiding exploits.

Crystal Dynamics has given us a sneak peek at Lara’s potential appearance in Tomb Raider 12, based on concept art. This design might change slightly before the final release, but for now, it seems that Lara will carry not just one, but two pistols, and she’ll be sporting her signature style with a blue tank top, cargo shorts, and a backpack.

In August 2024, Amazon Games head Christoph Hartmann shared with IGN that the bar for Tomb Raider 12 is set extremely high, as there are some fantastic ideas in development at Crystal Dynamics, and progress is going smoothly.
