As a dedicated Marvel fan who has followed the Venom franchise since its inception, I must admit that Tom Hardy’s Venom is one of my favorite characters. His portrayal of Eddie Brock and the symbiote’s alter ego has been nothing short of captivating. The anticipation for Venom 3 and potential appearances in Spider-Man 4 have kept me on the edge of my seat.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Venom 3, also known as Venom: The Last Dance, with many Marvel enthusiasts looking forward to possible links between this film and the MCU. This third installment is poised to wrap up Sony’s Venom trilogy, as Tom Hardy is expected to conclude his portrayal of the renowned Marvel character. However, whispers about the symbiote storyline persisting in the MCU have sparked speculation that Tom Hardy could reappear in the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 4. During a recent conversation, the star of Dunkirk shared his thoughts on these theories and offered insights into his potential role within the MCU.
Tom Hardy’s Venom won’t fight Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Part 4
Tom Hardy recently revealed that he does not see his Venom featuring in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 as he has yet to receive its script.
In a quick chat with The Associated Press during his promotional run for Venom 3, the seasoned Hollywood actor expressed doubts about being part of Spider-Man 4 featuring Tom Holland. When asked about the possibility, Hardy replied, “I don’t foresee myself in the next Spider-Man film as I haven’t received a script for it yet.

Although Tom Hardy may have had doubts about Spider-Man 4, many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans think that the fearsome antihero Venom could appear in future Marvel projects. Previously, both actors have hinted at their excitement for a crossover between Venom and Spider-Man. In fact, Hardy once posted a picture of Venom attacking Spider-Man on his Instagram account back in 2020, only to later remove it. Similarly, Tom Holland has also expressed interest in acting alongside Hardy’s character, Venom.
Apart from that, Andy Serkis, director of Venom 2, has hinted that the different universes will intersect somehow. This could potentially mean Tom Hardy’s Venom character may appear in Spider-Man 4, although his previous statements suggested otherwise.
At present, there’s no clear indication from either Sony or Marvel Studios about Tom Hardy’s role in the MCU as I’m writing this.
