Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan & More in Final Talks for Guy Ritchie’s The Associate Series Cast

As a seasoned gamer of both the small and big screens, I can hardly contain my excitement about this latest casting news! The prospect of Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan joining forces under Guy Ritchie’s direction is nothing short of a dream come true for me.

Guy Ritchie’s Paramount+ series titled “The Associate” is nearly confirmed to bring on board Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan for its cast. Previously, Hardy worked with Ritchie in the 2008 movie RocknRolla. In contrast, neither Mirren nor Brosnan have been part of a production directed by the filmmaker who is famous for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan likely to join Guy Ritchie’s Paramount+ series, The Associate

Discussions regarding casting Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan in Guy Ritchie’s film The Associate are nearing completion.

Initially conceived as a British spin-off from the Showtime series Ray Donovan (which ran from 2013 to 2020), this series was initially titled The Donovans. However, it has since evolved into an independent series, disassociating itself from Liev Schreiber’s crime drama show and its 2022 movie sequel, Ray Donovan: The Movie. (Based on Variety’s report)

As Deadline reports, the film’s working title is “The Associate.” It appears that Tom Hardy is being considered to play Harry, a character who serves as a fixer for a criminal family. The family’s mother and father roles may be taken by Mirren and Brosnan, respectively, although this has not been officially confirmed.

101 Studios, along with Showtime/MTV Studios, are involved in the production of the upcoming television series. Ritchie is set to direct each hour-long episode and will also serve as an executive producer alongside Ronan Bennett and other colleagues.

In October 25, 2024, Tom Hardy, who will debut his film Venom: The Last Dance in U.S. theaters, boasts an impressive television background with roles like Alfie Solomons from Peaky Blinders and James Delaney from BBC’s Taboo. On the other hand, Dame Helen Mirren, known for her numerous Emmy awards and an Academy Award, plays Cara Dutton in 1923, another Paramount+ series. Lastly, Pierce Brosnan, once the iconic James Bond, recently appeared in the HBO TV movie The Great Lillian Hall.
