Chris McCarthy, joint CEO of Paramount and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, declared: “MobLand has been an extraordinary triumph due to the creative brilliance of Guy, Jez, Ronan, and David Glasser. It’s their masterful work that allows us to immerse in a world that viewers seem to be utterly captivated by, thanks to the outstanding performances of Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren.” McCarthy further mentioned that the show has surpassed expectations by contributing significantly to our 2024 record-breaking success, placing us as the second-most viewed SVOD for original series viewing time (as reported by Deadline).
Ronan Bennett originated and penned MobLand, while Jez Butterworth also lent his writing skills to the production. Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios collaborated on the series’ production. Notably, this is Butterworth’s second venture with Paramount+ following The Agency, both of which were developed under his overall deal with Paramount+ and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios.
