Tom Cruise Horror Movie’s Massive Budget Causes Release Date Concerns

The horror film starring Tom Cruise, titled “Deeper”, might encounter financial difficulties which could delay its scheduled release date.

What is the rumored budget issues for Deeper?

Based on a recent report from Puck, it seems that Warner Bros. has communicated to Tom Cruise and his representatives at CAA that the proposed budget for the film “Deeper” isn’t feasible at its current figure. It appears that Cruise had requested a budget of $275 million for the movie, but Warner Bros.’ studio heads, Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, are said to have informed Cruise that the maximum budget for the project is set at $230 million instead.

This situation might threaten the standing of the film at Warner Bros (WB). Initially, Cruise didn’t anticipate WB would reject the film, but now, his team is hurriedly working to find an alternative production house. Interestingly, Universal has emerged as a potential candidate for the second studio involved in this project.

The report further mentions that Cruise appears to have grown disenchanted with Warner Bros., although they’ve collaborated on the forthcoming film by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and even signed a broader agreement with Cruise in 2024.

As a space enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement about the upcoming movie that follows me, an astronaut, plunging into an uncharted trench, where a chilling force awaits. Originally penned by Max Landis, this thrilling tale is now being reimagined by my longtime friend and creative partner, Christopher McQuarrie. I can’t wait to see what he does with it!

In a new collaboration, director Liman teams up once more with Tom Cruise. Previously, they’ve worked together on the science fiction classic Edge of Tomorrow, as well as American Made. Furthermore, rumors indicate that Liman, Cruise, and McQuarrie are jointly developing a space-themed movie with NASA’s assistance, although no significant developments have been announced so far.
