Tom Cruise is hanging off an upside-down airplane in a new Mission: Impossible 8 video.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible series, previously known as “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two,” is set to hit US theaters this coming May! It’s none other than the legendary Tom Cruise returning once more in his iconic role as Ethan Hunt.

In relation to X, Cruise posted a brief clip hinting at a thrilling stunt he executed on an aircraft, which was part of the filmmaking process.

Who stars in Mission: Impossible 8 with Tom Cruise?

In the Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning movie, I’m joined by a star-studded crew consisting of Hayley Atwell as Grace, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, Esai Morales as Gabriel, Pom Klementieff as Paris, Mariela Garriga as Marie, Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge, Holt McCallany as Bernstein, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman as Sydney, Hannah Waddingham, Angela Bassett as Erika Sloane, Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs, Greg Tarzan Davis as Degas, Charles Parnell, and Frederick Schmidt.

The plot of the movie is succinctly stated as ‘Life is a result of our decisions.’ With Tom Cruise portraying Ethan Hunt, we find ourselves in Mission: Impossible – The Last Stand.

The movie is helmed by director Christopher McQuarrie, who collaborated on the screenplay with Erik Jendresen. Tom Cruise and McQuarrie share their roles as producers for the film, while David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Chris Brock take on the positions of executive producers.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, McQuarrie assured fans that the stunts in Mission: Impossible 8 would leave them utterly astounded, stating they might even make their minds boggle. He described one underwater stunt as particularly nerve-wracking, admitting it made him feel queasy just thinking about the pressure involved. It was a truly intense sequence to work on.

In the United States, you’ll be able to catch Mission: Impossible 8 in movie theaters starting on May 23, 2025, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.
