Tokyo Ghoul DBD Collab & Ken Kaneki Killer Release Date Revealed

In a thrilling crossover, the realm of Tokyo Ghoul is encroaching upon Dead by Daylight, as Behaviour Interactive revealed that the character from the anime and manga, Ken Kaneki, will join their game, assuming the role of a menacing killer.

When is the Tokyo Ghoul DBD collab release date?

On April 2, 2025, the character Kaneki will make his appearance in Dead by Daylight, offering a fresh take on this well-known figure. In the storyline of Tokyo Ghoul, Kaneki is initially depicted as a college student. Following an encounter with ghouls, he undergoes a transformation, becoming half-ghoul himself. Throughout the series, Kaneki finds himself in complex situations involving both humans and ghouls, all while grappling with his efforts to preserve his own human essence.

In the game, Kaneki’s suffering at the hands of his ghoul, Jason, has driven him close to mental breakdown, as mentioned in a post on the PlayStation Blog. The humanity that Kaneki struggled so much to keep is now lost, replaced by a malevolent thirst for cruelty, as depicted in the character description. His Kagune abilities, which allow deadly tentacles to emerge from his back, have turned him into an extraordinary weapon of death. It goes without saying that Survivors will find their tasks challenging – if he doesn’t eliminate them first by taking out their hearts.

In the blog post featuring the latest character, Behaviour Interactive explains that they’ve slightly modified Kaneki to align with the tone and setting of Dead by Daylight. Rather than making him a survivor, as initially planned, they found it more engaging to emphasize the horror elements and portray an alternate universe where the character transforms into something he strives to avoid.

In his role as a formidable foe, Kaneki can exploit his Kagune tentacles as offensive weapons against the surviving characters on the map, while leveraging his swift movement to bridge gaps quickly. If he manages to land successful attacks, he transitions into an “Enraged State,” empowering him to inflict greater damage and catch players at a faster pace.

In Dead by Daylight’s collaboration with Tokyo Ghoul, actor Natsuki Hanae – known for his role as Kaneki in the anime – will provide authentic voiceovers.
