TMNT: Tactical Takedown is a new strategy game from the makers of I Am Your Beast

As a lifelong fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I can hardly contain my excitement for their latest gaming adventure! With each new announcement, it feels like I’m revisiting my childhood all over again, and the genre-bending Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is no exception.

The resurgence of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continues to be one of gaming’s best stories of the last few years. The Heroes in a Half-Shell have rediscovered their arcade brawling roots with an all-new beat ’em up, relived their glory days with an old-school compilation, and even ventured into new sewers with a roguelike. The Mean Green Machine can’t be stopped, because they’re about to explore another new genre with the newly announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown.

During the PC Gaming Show presentation on Thursday, it was unveiled that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is being developed by Strange Scaffold in collaboration with Paramount Game Studios. Notably, the team behind this project recently released I Am Your Beast, a game that received considerable attention. With Tactical Takedown, both the Turtles and Strange Scaffold are venturing into a new genre – turn-based tactical strategy. Players will assume control of each Turtle individually, engaging in combat against the Foot Clan and other adversaries across various stages. Each turtle will possess unique abilities and super moves to defeat their enemies. The final confrontation will be against a formidable new enemy of the Foot Clan.

Other than basic information, not much is disclosed about TMNT: Tactical Takedown. However, Strange Scaffold intends to carry on their tradition of delivering top-tier games with this title, following the positive response they received for their recent game I Am Your Beast, which was praised by critics. Earlier, their work on El Paso, Elsewhere also garnered acclaim and is rumored to be getting a movie adaptation.

The Turtles have excelled in various genres thus far, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, with its Hades-like roguelike approach, has garnered much acclaim. We’ll keep an eye out for Strange Scaffold’s contribution to the amazing quartet in the upcoming months. The upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is scheduled for release on PC in 2025.
