As this deadline is fast approaching within a month, ByteDance has submitted an urgent request for an injunction to postpone the potential ban.

This morning, ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, filed a request for an injunction to delay the ban while their appeal against the decision is considered by the Supreme Court. They claim that, if the app is banned, small businesses and creators could potentially lose hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

In early 2021, ByteDance contended that banning TikTok could infringe upon freedom of speech under the First Amendment – an assertion they’ve emphasized consistently. As the January deadline approaches, it seems a verdict on TikTok might come more quickly than expected.
