Sony Pictures has unveiled the authentic trailer for its upcoming Western drama titled “Broke,” featuring Wyatt Russell (“Thunderbolts”) and Dennis Quaid (“Lawmen: Bass Reeves”). The film is set to be released digitally for rental or purchase starting May 6, 2025.

What happens in the Broke trailer?

This video presents Russell, a rodeo cowboy dealing with brain injury, who finds it hard to accept that his bronc riding days are finished. The cast features Auden Thornton, seen in True Story and Black Mirror, Mary McDonnell known for Rebel and Major Crimes, Johnny Berchtold from Snow Falls and Reacher, as well as Tom Skerrit, who played in Ted.

The movie “Broke” is helmed by Carlyle Eubank (known for “The Signal”), who is not only the director but also an executive producer. This production is a joint effort of Russell, Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley, Victoria Vaughn, John Stalberg Jr., David Frigerio, Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis, and Terry Dougas. In addition to these producers, the executive producers include Jean-Luc De Fanti, Alexis Varouxakis, Max Work, Steven Hearst, Jack Hearst, Alex Hertzberg, Oliver Hudson, and Adam Burger. The movie is set in modern times as a western genre, focusing on True Brandywine, an experienced bareback bronc rider struggling with the decline of his rodeo career. As fate has it, he encounters a sudden spring blizzard and finds himself in peril. To survive, True grapples with injuries, sickness, and the harsh winter cold. In this struggle for life, he is compelled to confront his past decisions and the events that led him to his fragile state.
