What do we know about Thunderbolts*?
In a new turn of events, characters who typically oppose the norms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will find themselves compelled to join forces, as they are gathered by the U.S. government, a circumstance that might just bring about thunderbolts!
In this movie, you’ll find Florence Pugh portraying Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan acting as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour taking on the role of Alexei Shostakov (also known as Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell playing John Walker (who becomes U.S. Agent), Olga Kurylenko bringing Antonia Dreykov (Taskmaster) to life, Hannah John-Kamen embodying Ava Starr (Ghost), Lewis Pullman stepping into the character of Bob, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus assuming the role of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
In the upcoming movie, Geraldine Viswanathan will portray a character called Mel, while Wendell Edward Pierce has been chosen for an unspecified role. Furthermore, it’s anticipated that Lawrence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz will reprise their past roles as Bill Foster (from Ant-Man and the Wasp 2018) and Melina Vostokoff (from Black Widow 2021).
The Thunderbolts’ script is penned by Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo. Schreier’s previous works span films like Robot & Frank from 2012 and Paper Towns in 2015. Additionally, he has directed several episodes in the first season of Netflix’s Beef series.
The asterisk symbol in the movie’s title still has an undisclosed meaning right now, but Kevin Feige, a known figure in the film industry, has hinted that it holds significance. He also mentioned that its purpose will become clear once the movie has been screened.
Thunderbolts* will be released in United States theaters on May 2, 2025.
Before that, the movie “Captain America: Brave New World” by Marvel will be shown in U.S. cinemas on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. Not long after that, “Thunderbolts*” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” are scheduled for release on July 25, 2025.
*Note: “Thunderbolts” is the title of the movie. The asterisk (*) indicates that it’s a sequel or a known title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
