Before “Avengers: Doomsday” hits screens in under a year, actor Wyatt Russell, who stars in Thunderbolts, admits that he has not yet had a chance to look over the script for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Russell portrays John Walker/U.S. Agent, a character debuted in 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and is currently featured in Thunderbolts*, now showing in U.S. cinemas. Additionally, Russell lent his voice to this character in an episode of What If…?
What did Wyatt Russell say about Avengers: Doomsday?
Despite the fact that U.S. Agent is indeed set to appear again in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film, which is now being filmed, Russell has mentioned that he hasn’t received a script for the movie as of yet.
Speaking on Driven with Andrew Freund, Russell candidly admitted, “Frankly, I’ve got no idea what I’m getting myself into. I haven’t even gone over a script. There’s a chance I could meet my end in the first few minutes – I’m just not sure.
Russell did note that he’s still “beyond excited and honored to be in that part of the MCU.”
Apart from Russell, the ensemble of Avengers: Doomsday also features Chris Hemsworth playing Thor, Vanessa Kirby portraying Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Paul Rudd depicting Ant-Man, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Florence Pugh in the role of Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer voicing Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour portraying Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston reprising Loki, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen returning as Charles Xavier and Magneto respectively, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum taking on Gambit, Pedro Pascal embodying Reed Richards, and Robert Downey Jr. once again playing Doctor Doom.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday opens in United States theaters on May 1, 2026.
