Actress Olga Kurylenko, who played a role in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film, has shared insights about the movie and modifications made to her character’s script.
What did Olga Kurylenko say was changed in Thunderbolts*?
During an interaction with Diverto (through translator Miranes2310), Kurylenko discussed the evolving script of the film during production. She shared that both she and her son relocated to Atlanta for a span of five months, enduring the writers’ strike.
As a devoted fan, I can share that the production of this movie struck us with misfortune as we began filming just when the industry-wide strike occurred. Essentially, we gathered all our equipment and prepared ourselves for the shoot, which led to me taking my son out of school, relocating to Atlanta for half a year, renting a home, and setting up everything. And then, only two weeks into our stay, we were told that we needed to return home due to the strike and its uncertain resolution.
In the original plan, Kurylenko’s character, Taskmaster, survived throughout the entire film. But following some changes, she learned that not only had the overall idea and narrative of the movie been altered, but also that her character was removed from it much earlier in the production.

In the initial draft of the screenplay, my role was significantly different. However, despite being present throughout the film, the script underwent a significant transformation after revisions. The plot, locations, and even the storyline were altered, making it unrecognizable from the original. It’s disappointing because my character was interesting.
It’s noteworthy that many people, including the costume designers, have expressed their fondness for me as a character by saying, ‘She has the most stylish costume among all.’ I am particularly proud of my costume being considered the best.
