A fresh piece of concept art showcasing the Thunderbolts has surfaced online, displaying the team leaping simultaneously from what appears to be the old Avengers Tower. Notably, Olga Kurylenko’s Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster is also present in this group shot, suggesting that Marvel Studios may have initially intended a different role for her character.
The film “Thunderbolts” was helmed by director Jake Schreier, who worked from a screenplay penned by Lee Sung Jin, with initial drafting done by Eric Pearson. Since its release, it has earned an impressive Certified Fresh rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 358 reviews, making it the top-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe film in Phase 5.

What does the new Thunderbolts* concept art show?
According to Marvel concept artist Aleksi Briclot, the initial plan for the Thunderbolts movie included a larger role for Taskmaster. However, in the final version of the film, it was unexpectedly Black Widow who met her end early on.
During an earlier conversation, Kurylenko discussed the numerous revisions the Thunderbolts film underwent during its creation. Originally, the script from before the 2023 writer’s strike had Taskmaster appearing throughout the entire movie.
Initially, I found myself embodying a fascinating character in the original draft of the script. However, as production progressed, it became evident that my character had undergone significant changes. She remained present throughout the film, but the final product bore little resemblance to the initial script. After the rewrites, the storyline, settings, and overall concept shifted drastically. It’s unfortunate because I was attached to this captivating role.
Starting July 29, you’ll be able to buy the newly released movie in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats after its digital release.
