In a new twist, the film titled “Thudarum” showcases Mohanlal as its main character and is expertly directed by Tharun Moorthy. This highly successful production revolves around Shanmugham, affectionately called Benz, who resides in the picturesque hill town of Pathanamthitta.
Living a peaceful life with his spouse and kids, he considers his cherished old black Ambassador Mark 1 as an integral part of his family. However, unexpectedly, the vehicle gets entangled in a law enforcement matter, causing him to encounter numerous difficulties.
As the tale unfolds, Benz encounters a challenging predicament. The manner in which he resolves this dilemma is central to the narrative.
In the starring role is Mohanlal, while a talented group of actors like Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, and several others occupy significant roles in this film.
Since its debut, the film has garnered numerous positive criticisms and now stands among the top-earning movies in Malayalam cinematography.
Recently on screen, Mohanlal played a significant role in the movie L2: Empuraan. This film was helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, serving as the sequel to 2022’s Lucifer and being the second part of a planned trilogy.
The movie delves into the events following the initial film, featuring actors such as Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Indrajith, and more returning to their roles. Additionally, plans for a third part have been announced, focusing on the beginnings of Stephen Nedumpally, with Pranav Mohanlal portraying the adolescent character in this sequel.
