Today, May 30, marks the digital premiere of the movie “Thudarum,” featuring Mohanlal and Shobana. This Malayalam crime thriller is now available for streaming on JioHotstar. Viewers have already started enjoying it on their small screens, so if you’re thinking about watching it via OTT, make sure to read what viewers are saying first.

What do netizens have to say about Thudarum?

After seeing Thudarum, viewers found themselves almost at a loss for words, expressing that only a select few actors can convey such deep emotions on screen. Instead of critiquing the film’s merits or demerits, fans expressed heartfelt appreciation towards the entire production team. Mohanlal, in particular, received widespread acclaim – netizens referred to him as “irreplaceable” and “ageless.

Viewers were just as thrilled to witness Shobana and the esteemed actor sharing the screen again. For numerous people, Thudarum was considered Mohanlal’s most impressive performance since Drishyam 2. However, some viewers initially thought it would be a solo act; Prakash Varma’s captivating character, on the other hand, turned out to be an unexpected yet delightful surprise.

Discussing Thudarum without acknowledging director Tharun Moorthy’s skill seems unfair, as the film’s plot may not be revolutionary, being a common story of a man standing up against injustice. However, Tharun Moorthy’s unique portrayal of Mohanlal makes the movie captivating.

About Thudarum

In the heart of every die-hard fan, there’s me – the one who can’t get enough of the captivating tale spun around Shanmugham, affectionately known as Benz. Once a daring stuntman in the glitzy world of films, he now navigates the city streets as a taxi driver, a shift brought upon by a heart-wrenching tragedy that took his beloved friend’s life. Life for him was smooth sailing until one fateful day, when my ordinary cab – the one I wish I could ride in every day – unwittingly found itself entangled in a drug smuggling scandal, leading to its confiscation.

In this production, Mohanlal acts as Shanmugham, with Shobana portraying his wife. Thomas Mathew and Amritha Varshini join the cast as their offspring. Prakash Varma steps into the role of the morally compromised CI George Mathan, while Binu Pappu assumes the character of SI Benny C. Kurian.
