Thudarum is highly anticipated as a family-focused film production by director Tharun Moorthy. He collaborated with K. R. Sunil on the screenplay. In the main role, we see Mohanlal, supported by a talented cast including Shobana, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, and several others in significant roles.

The movie narrates the story of Shanmugham, a villager who lives with his spouse Lalitha and children. Much like his loved ones, he considers his vintage Ambassador car as an extended family member.

Yet, the man encounters difficulties both from the officials and public opinion when his vehicle is seized. The manner in which he navigates out of this tough situation forms the crux of the film’s plot.

Regarding Mohanlal’s upcoming projects, he recently starred as the lead actor in the film L2: Empuraan. This film, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is part of a trilogy called Lucifer and serves as a sequel to the 2019 release, Lucifer.

In the movie, Mohanlal once again took on the character of Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Abraham Khureshi, delving into the political fallout in Kerala following the incidents from the initial film.

In the context of a fresh political challenge, the movie delved into the backstory of Zayeed Masood, portrayed by Prithviraj. Alongside Mammootty (Lalettan) and Prithviraj, the film featured talented actors such as Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jerome Flynn, Andrea Tivadar, among others, in pivotal roles. Additionally, Rick Yune and Pranav Mohanlal made brief appearances in the film.

In the near future, Mohanlal is actively working on set for the production of Hridayapoorvam. This forthcoming movie is under the direction of esteemed filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, and Malavika Mohanan has been cast in a significant part.
