As a lifelong movie enthusiast who grew up in Kerala, I have always held a special place in my heart for Malayalam cinema. Seeing the picture from the sets of Unaroo, released way back in 1984, instantly transports me to my childhood and the magic of watching movies at the local theater with my family. The image, captured by the talented Ravi K. Chandran, brings back memories of Mohanlal’s incredible performances that captivated audiences for decades. This picture is a testament to the rich history and legacy of Malayalam cinema, which continues to inspire and entertain me even today.
Right behind him, Prithviraj’s dad, Sukumaran, is attentively watching the production process, with Mani Ratnam overseeing everything from behind the camera. This film, being the sole Malayalam movie directed by Ratnam so far, was also his second directorial project.
As a devoted admirer, let me share that the esteemed actor Sivaji Ganesan, though no longer with us, held an exceptional position in Malayalam cinema. His enduring influence continues to resonate through the profound impact of his films.
The film centered around a political drama, exploring the struggles of workers who rely on daily wages, particularly those who experienced challenges from the labor unions in Kerala during a specific period.
On the professional side of things, Prithviraj recently appeared in the comedic movie “Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil,” directed by Vipin Das. At present, he is busy directing the long-awaited sequel to Lucifer, with Mohanlal taking on the main role.
In addition to my ongoing journey learning Empuraan (L2), I am eagerly anticipating my upcoming roles. Firstly, I’ll be making my directorial debut and gracing the screen in the long-awaited fantasy film, Barroz. This project promises to be an unforgettable experience for me and the audience alike. Secondly, I will make a special appearance in Kannappa, and lastly, you can catch me in Vrushabha as well. These roles are exciting additions to my acting repertoire!
Furthermore, Mani Ratnam is currently busy with his movie titled “Thug Life,” featuring Kamal Haasan as the main character. This upcoming film is said to fall under the genre of gangster dramas.
