Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as Thor in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Armageddon. At present, specifics about the movie’s storyline are tightly guarded secrets, with eager fans having to wait until December 2026 to uncover what Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Doctor Doom has planned for Earth’s strongest superheroes.

Check out the freshly leaked images of Chris Hemsworth crushing his workout regimen for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday! You can catch a glimpse of them right here below. Enjoy!

What is Chris Hemsworth’s Avengers: Doomsday Thor workout?

According to Luke Zocchi, who’s been training Chris Hemsworth for a while, they didn’t put in nearly as much intense effort during this movie as they did with previous Thor workout routines when talking to The Independent.

He mentioned, with a touch of regret, that it seems we’re starting to age a bit. We’re not pushing ourselves as hard anymore and are becoming more mindful about our health. It’s like we’re learning to listen better to our bodies.

Love and Thunder, Hemsworth fully committed to a regimen that included daily bodybuilding and strongman exercises, as well as eating 450-calorie meals ten times each day.

As an ardent admirer of Avengers: Doomsday, I’ve learned that Chris Hemsworth takes a unique approach to his weightlifting routine. Instead of a continuous schedule, he follows a system where he lifts weights for one day, then takes a break the next. This method seems to be quite effective, as it’s been instrumental in sculpting Thor’s mighty physique. His workout regimen roughly falls into a push-pull-legs split. On one workout day, he focuses on exercises that primarily work his pushing muscles like the chest, shoulders, and triceps. The following workout targets his pulling muscles such as the back and biceps. Lastly, he dedicates a separate session to working his legs and glutes. This balanced approach seems to be a key factor in maintaining Thor’s formidable strength and agility on screen.

According to Zocchi, Hemsworth’s weekly workout routine consists of a push exercise day, followed by a cardio session, a pull exercise day, another cardio session, a leg exercise day, yet another cardio session, and the cycle repeats.

Zocchi mentioned, “This time around, we’re paying closer attention to our physical well-being. If Chris expresses he’s feeling low-energy today, we might opt for some continuous cardio exercises, then revisit weightlifting tomorrow. To keep things interesting, we vary the workout routine. For instance, we could have him walk on an incline treadmill for 10 minutes, followed by 10 minutes on a StairMaster, and so on with different machines like a rower and SkiErg, every 10 minutes to prevent boredom. Lately, we’ve been incorporating boxing into our routine as well, given my past experience in it. Chris has also been doing some running, but not excessive long-distance runs.

As a gamer, I can’t wait to check out how Chris Hemsworth transforms in the upcoming film. From what I gather, he won’t be as bulky as he was in Thor: Love and Thunder, which is a change from the norm. Apparently, he found it challenging to maintain that level of physique, and it affected his enjoyment of the excessive food intake required. This time around, he’s sticking to a more manageable eating schedule, consuming four to five meals daily, but not adhering to a strict diet like before. The focus seems to be on maintaining a healthier balance, rather than forcing him into an unenjoyable eating regimen. Despite the change, he still looks fantastic!

Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026.
