As a long-time gamer and huge Marvel fan, I am beyond excited about the latest additions to Marvel Rivals’ roster! Thor and Jeff the Land Shark are two iconic characters that I have always wanted to see in a hero shooter, and now they’re finally coming to the game.
NetEase Games and Marvel Games are progressively adding more characters to their hero shooter, Marvel Rivals, as they move forward with additional closed betas. Exciting news for fans as Thor and Jeff the Land Shark have been confirmed as playable characters in the upcoming beta test. Additionally, Dr. Doom has been hinted at as a future addition to the game.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Marvel Rivals’ newest information was unveiled through multiple trailers starring Jeff and Thor. Although we didn’t observe them in combat, it’s plausible to assume that Jeff might function as a Strategist character, employing cunning tricks to manipulate opponents and lead them into unfavorable situations. Alternatively, Thor could be the Vanguard, using his immense power to absorb enemy assaults while delivering electrifying lightning strikes and hammer blows. Dr. Doom was merely hinted at, but he appears adaptable enough to fill any role. He may lean towards Strategist or Duelist roles.
Since its initial announcement, Marvel Rivals has expanded its character lineup significantly. Currently, it includes Spider-Man and his allies, numerous X-Men, several Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and even solo characters such as Punisher and Namor. Given the immense Marvel Universe, the selection ultimately hinges on Marvel Games and NetEase’s preferences.
