This New Horror Game Forces You To Physically Hide Behind Your Webcam

With horror games, immersion is one of the key aspects. You want to really trick your head into thinking that you are present in a physical world. Phasmophobia turned on your microphone, several games also came out with a VR version, etc. But this new one… tops it all with monsters that can actually SEE you through your webcam…

“Eyes Never Wake” Is Blurring The Line Between Game & Reality

Calling all Content Creators.

In my horror game, the monster SEES YOU THROUGH YOUR WEBCAM – so you’ll have to physically duck beneath your real-life desk to hide.

This game is as disturbing as it is innovative. Picture this: You’re sitting at your desk, headphones on, lights dimmed, ready to dive into this new horror game. But this time, it’s different. Because the monster? It can actually see you.

This game takes immersion to a whole new level – your webcam isn’t just for show. When you hide, you literally have to duck behind your desk or lean out of sight, or else the creature will spot you. And trust me, you do not want that. It’s watching, waiting for even the slightest glimpse of your face.

And it’s not just your movements. Your mic is live, too. Breathe too loud? Whisper at the wrong moment? You might hear something shift in the darkness, coming straight for you. Every chase feels real because you are the one hiding – physically.

But there’s more to this than just survival. There’s something off about this game, something lurking beneath the surface. Hidden areas, strange messages, an unsettling presence that seems to know you’re playing. As you clip out of bounds and dig deeper, you start to uncover a mystery about an abandoned game, a place called “heaven,” and why some things were meant to stay buried.

It’s creepy, it’s unpredictable, and it will mess with your head. If you’re into horror that breaks the fourth wall and makes you question what’s real, this might just be your new worst nightmare.

Eyes Never Wake was made by solo developer Allan Hedlund, who already has quite the repertoire of horror games on Itch.io. Eyes Never Wake is their first game to release on Steam, so we highly recommend checking out their past works here and wishlisting “Eyes Never Wake” on Steam so that you don’t miss the release date!
