When contemplating Stardew Valley, one might automatically associate it with farming. This makes sense given its nature as a farming simulation game. Yet, for me, the image of Stardew Valley brings to mind mining instead. Indeed, I find myself drawn towards the mines and all they offer.
If you’re one of those who take pleasure in mining rocks in Stardew Valley created by ConcernedApe, a fresh mod called Miner’s Retreat – A Quarry Expansion has been introduced, designed specifically for individuals like us. Crafted by modder Azathil, this new location offers a charming environment for players to explore.
Stardew Valley Miner’s Quarry
On Nexus Mods, you’ll find a fresh Stardew Valley mod which introduces an expanded player dwelling in the northeast of the cave. This new location boasts a ground floor, a greenhouse-cum-bedroom conservatory on the upper level, and a basement equipped with a mine elevator for direct access to mining activities below.
In a tranquil, mineral-rich cave hidden within the quarry, Mod Creator has introduced Miner’s Retreat – a snug player dwelling. This abode is equipped with all essentials, including a minecart stationed in its basement and a personal elevator for mining convenience. It’s perfect for resting when your time runs short after a tiresome day deep in the mines.
In my gaming world, I’ve got a house with a kitchen and plenty of decor options on the ground floor. The conservatory is where you’ll find a changeable animated parrot and a functional fountain that can be used as a water source. The bedroom is fully customizable too. On paper, it might seem like just another cute house, but this one comes with its own fishing spots and an ore-filled cave hidden within the quarry!
In the Mine (referred to as Ore Cave), the game’s minerals or ores are set up so they can only be found at appropriate times during the game, preventing early access to them. For instance, rare ores such as Iridium and Bone nodes will only appear once they have been unlocked within the game’s natural storyline. This isn’t a shortcut to reach the endgame, but rather an extra comforting feature added to an already charming game.
Furthermore, the mod designer clarified that “Ghostfish, Stonefish, and Cave Jelly can be caught in all caves’ waters”, giving players a chance to fulfill multiple fishing objectives at once.
Some of my best moments in Stardew Valley come from the cozy charm of minor modifications. Although some players overload their game with numerous mods, I find the subtle touches are what truly justify modding for me.
To delve deeper into Stardew Valley updates, discover that its creator, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone, surprisingly doesn’t engage with mods for the game. Furthermore, prepare to be amazed as the upcoming Haunted Chocolatier is expected to dwarf Stardew Valley in size upon its release.
