In 2025, Circle 5 Studios unveiled the release of their debut first-person dinosaur shooter game, titled “Primal Carnage: Evolution“, which will be available on the PlayStation 4, with an enhanced version tailored for the PS5 as well.
In this game, you’re offered two exciting roles:
1. Take on the challenge as an accomplished mercenary, battling some of the deadliest prehistoric creatures ever known to roam the earth.
2. Or, step into the skin of a dinosaur and unleash a fury not seen since the Cretaceous era!
Of claws and bullets
In Primal Carnage: Evolution, you’ll find a larger cast of characters you can control, making it a significantly enhanced edition compared to its original. This enhanced version offers refined gameplay mechanics and fresh content.
Evolution has more playable characters, better gameplay, and new stuff compared to the previous version.
In this game, you’ll find yourself taking a stand, whether it’s with humankind or the ancient beasts, each offering numerous personalization options to give your characters a distinct appearance. These characters will shine even brighter with improved graphics, refined textures, and superior lighting effects, which can run up to 60 frames per second and boast higher resolution for PS4 and PS5 users.
Based on the brief 17-second trailer and limited content (just the title and dinosaur roars), it remains unclear what the upcoming game will entail or how it will visually appear. However, given its dinosaur theme and shooter genre, it seems like an intriguing option for enthusiasts of prehistoric creatures or unique shooters. As the game is now accessible on Steam with a contemporary version, we can speculate about the console port’s quality, hoping that it brings some exciting surprises our way.
In a more casual tone, have we ever played Primal Carnage together in the past? And, if you were to pick one, which dinosaur would be your personal favorite?
