As a die-hard fan of Allu Arjun, I find myself utterly captivated by the wisdom and insight that flows from his esteemed father, Allu Aravind. His recent speech at the South India Film Festival in Hyderabad was nothing short of enlightening, particularly his thoughts on the state of Hindi cinema.
Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, is a highly influential producer within the South Indian film industry. Lately, he attended the South India Film Festival held in Hyderabad, where he discussed the triumph of regional films. Moreover, he didn’t shy away from criticizing the flaws of Hindi cinema and calling out the movie makers based in Mumbai for their shortcomings.
At the gathering, Allu Aravind expressed that today’s movie industry landscape differs significantly from the ’90s, largely because of a broad change in pan-India. He explained, “Our dubbed films are, surprisingly, quite popular there. In other words, the content produced here is appreciated. You might question why this isn’t reciprocated if they too are making content. I have an answer to this that may be seen as controversial, but it’s my honest opinion.
Allu Arjun’s father expressed admiration for Hindi filmmakers and their mindset, yet he noted a certain limitation in their perspective. He humorously commented, “They seem to be stuck between Bandra and Juhu! They grow up in these areas and their outlook and creative vision reflect that. Consequently, they also produce films with a similar flavor.
Allu Aravind pointed out that regions such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have potential for filmmaking, but this possibility isn’t being fully utilized due to the focus not being on the content. He further remarked, “We aren’t receiving any special favor there.
At the end of his speech, Allu Aravind shared that he’s had discussions with some individuals from the Hindi film world, and they are now in the process of creating movies aimed at a broader audience.
Simultaneously, Allu Aravind serves as the father to Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish, and Venkatesh. He is known for his role as a producer in various notable films such as Master, Subhalekha, Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, and Pasivadi Pranam. Furthermore, he has supported several of Allu Arjun’s films throughout the years, including Sarrainodu, Happy, Gangotri, Badrinath, and more.
