“These devs are based as hell,” The First Descendant community gives Nexon its flowers following smash update

As a long-time fan of The First Descendant, I have to admit that I’ve had my fair share of frustrations with Nexon’s monetization strategies. However, I was pleasantly surprised by their latest patch that addressed some of the community’s concerns regarding Void Shards and farming processes.

Nexon, the creator of The First Descendant, which is developed by the company First Descendant at Nexon, has been under scrutiny for some time due to concerns over its controversial microtransaction methods. After releasing a new looter shooter game, there were numerous complaints about exorbitant prices in the in-game store. However, surprisingly, the development team went against community anticipation and implemented changes that players had asked for with their most recent update.

In the most recent The First Descendant update 1.0.3, Nexon introduced an enhancement that raises the number of Void Shards you can earn. Simultaneously, they “streamlined the farming experience,” making it simpler to gather these resources and enabling players to engage in more Void Fusion Reaction missions. For newcomers unfamiliar with destroying Void Fragments and collecting Void Shards, we provide a tutorial to help you get started.

I was among the many in the community who were taken aback by Nexon’s recent announcement, as this sudden shift indicates that they are indeed paying attention to our concerns. The director of “The First Descendant” even hinted at more fan-requested changes to come with the official patch notes. Excitingly, the team is also working on new in-game solutions to combat AFK farmers and enhance Fragment farming routes in an upcoming patch.
