As a seasoned lifestyle expert with over two decades of immersion in the dynamic world of cinema, I find myself in complete agreement with Koratala Siva‘s perspective regarding the universal appeal of films. My personal journey has taken me across the length and breadth of this great nation, witnessing firsthand the diverse tastes and preferences of our multifaceted audience.
Junior NTR’s upcoming movie “Devara: Part 1” has been acclaimed as a massive success by fans, ahead of its release in theaters tomorrow. Social media platforms are buzzing with well-wishes, excited posts, and enthusiastic fan reactions praising Jr NTR. Recently, director Koratala Siva shared his thoughts on the potential impact he believes films like “Devara” could make, particularly in the northern regions of India.
Over time, the disagreement between the Northern and Southern sectors of the film industry has diminished significantly. Nowadays, there’s a prevailing trend towards pan-India films that tend to perform exceptionally well at the box office. Lately, during the launch event for Devara, director Koratala Siva expressed his thoughts on the potential reception the movie might receive in the northern regions of India.
In my creative approach, I, Koratala Siva, refrain from making deliberate calculations when crafting my films. As I weave the narrative or a specific scene, I don’t ponder over whether it will resonate with Hindi viewers or not. I am not adept at such tasks. Instead, I trust that a film can appeal to all language audiences when the storytelling process flows naturally and authentically.
Building on his disclosure, the director emphasized that movies transcend geographical boundaries such as North and South, and it’s the universal resonance of ideas within these films that truly captivate audiences worldwide.
Koratala Siva drew inspiration from movies such as Lagaan and Dangal that achieved immense success across all audience segments worldwide, regardless of their geographical origin or the genre they were categorized in.
In agreement that Devara would thrive in the Northern region as well, he commented, “Are ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Dangal’ Bollywood or Tollywood films? We gave a standing ovation to both. The directors of these movies worked diligently and put their heart into the story. If the emotions and drama are portrayed effectively, there should be no question about the taste of Hindi film enthusiasts.
In the film titled “Devara,” featuring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and others in main roles, is scheduled to release in theaters on September 27, 2024. This will mark Tarak’s return as a sole lead actor on the big screen after quite some time.
