Critics seem to be mixed on The White Lotus Season 3.

Looking forward to it, The White Lotus will be back for a third season on February 16, 2025! This time, Mike White has crafted the storyline in beautiful Thailand with an impressive lineup of stars including Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Natasha Rothwell, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and many others.

The witty critique of society unfolds at a luxurious Thai vacation spot, focusing on the adventures of both guests and staff throughout a seven-day period.

What are critics saying about The White Lotus Season 3?

According to Variety’s Alison Herman, The White Lotus Season 3 starts somewhat leisurely, even though she describes it as “the least captivating installment in this ongoing travel journal so far.” However, around mid-season, Herman notes that the narrative becomes as thrilling and unforeseeable as any of the explosive situations White has previously ignited.

According to Daniel Fienberg from The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming season may encounter some criticism for its storyline being too predictable or repetitive. However, he acknowledged that the show’s characters and commentary have become familiar, though not necessarily stale. He commended the cast for their portrayals of mostly unscrupulous, sharp-tongued characters. Notably, Fienberg highlighted Goggins, Coon, Schwarzenegger, Parkey Posey, and Aimee Lou Wood as particularly impressive actors in this series.

According to Tara Bennett from IGN, she appreciated the casting choices for The White Lotus Season 3, but she felt that the series seemed to be missing captivating storylines this season.

In a recent post, Bennett expressed that the current season of “The White Lotus” feels overly disjointed and relaxed. Instead of addressing the issues presented within the characters, they are allowed to linger in their own inability to resolve problems, which results in monotony. Additionally, the tension and personal drama fail to intensify significantly during the episodes HBO provided for this review.

Rolling Stone’s Alan Speinwall found it highly enjoyable, although it seemed as though White was blending concepts from his earlier two seasons together.

In other words, The White Lotus Season 3 boasts a grand total of eight episodes, marking it as the longest stretch in the show’s history so far.
