During a recent conversation, showrunner Mike White mentioned that for Season 4 of The White Lotus, the setting might deviate from the usual coastal scenery.

Regarding the upcoming location for the fourth season, White expressed, “For a change in scenery during season four, I’m looking to move away from the rocky shorelines, yet there’s still potential for more mysteries unfolding at the White Lotus resorts.” (via Deadline)

If Mike White’s speculations about the location for The White Lotus Season 4 are accurate, it would mark a departure from the usual oceanic backdrop that has characterized the series so far. Notably, the series has predominantly highlighted resorts belonging to the Four Seasons chain, with the first season unfolding in Hawaii and the second transporting viewers to Italy. In contrast, Season 3 was set in Thailand, and some filming was done at hotels not affiliated with Four Seasons.

In February 2025, HBO’s drama head Francesca Orsi indicated that they haven’t decided on a specific location for White Lotus Season 4 yet, but it’s expected to be set in a European country. She mentioned that they will be scouting locations over the next couple of weeks to determine the exact spot, and while she can’t reveal the destination just yet, there’s a high likelihood that it will be in Europe.
