The Wheel of Time Season 3 Cast Adds Oscar Nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo

As a dedicated fan of captivating fantasy narratives, I am absolutely thrilled to see the addition of the illustrious Shohreh Aghdashloo to The Wheel of Time Season 3 cast! Her rich acting experience and versatility will undoubtedly bring Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan’s complex character to life, adding another layer of intrigue to this already mesmerizing series.

Actress Shohreh Aghdashloo, who was nominated for an Oscar (House of Sand and Fog), has now confirmed her involvement with the cast of Season 3 for “The Wheel of Time,” the upcoming chapter in Amazon MGM Studios’ popular fantasy drama series. This is another significant TV role for her following her recent appearance on HBO’s “The Penguin.

Actress Aghdashloo has been cast as the character Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan, a much-awaited figure from the original book series. Known for her merciless power and skill in both politics and channeling, Elaida has a rich history with Moiraine and Siuan, and harbors grudges against both of them upon her return to the White Tower. A firm believer in achieving the greater good, no matter the cost, Elaida is prepared to go to any lengths to attain her vision.

Who is in The Wheel of Time Season 3 cast?

In the Wheel of Time series, Rafe Judkins takes charge in both development and executive production, while also holding the role of showrunner. For Season 3, Rosamund Pike portrays Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney plays al’Lan Mandragoran, Josha Stradowski is Rand al’Thor, Zoë Robins acts as Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden stars as Egwene al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford portrays Perrin Aybara, and Dónal Finn appears as Mat Cauthon. Towards the conclusion of Season 2, following the defeat of Ishamael, Rand is reunited with his companions in Falme and declared the Dragon Reborn. However, as Season 3 unfolds, dangers against the Light escalate: the White Tower is divided, the Black Ajah roam freely, old adversaries resurface in the Two Rivers, and the remaining Forsaken are relentlessly chasing after the Dragon, including Lanfear whose bond with Rand will lead to a pivotal decision between Light and Dark. As his past connections start to fray and his corrupted powers intensify, Rand becomes almost unrecognizable to his long-time associates, Moiraine and Egwene. These two influential figures, initially as teacher and student, must now cooperate to prevent the Dragon from succumbing to Darkness… regardless of the sacrifices required.

Joining the cast are Ceara Coveney portraying Elayne Trakand, Kate Fleetwood as Leandrin Guirale, Natasha O’Keeffe in the role of Lanfear, Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, and Kae Alexander as Min Farshaw. The series is overseen by Pike, with Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson serving as advisory producers.
