In the last episode of the first season, Maria Bello’s character, Belle Buckley, shockingly turned against her husband, Harlan. Meanwhile, Cane Buckley found himself in a difficult predicament regarding his relationship with Peyton.

Are Cane and Peyton together at the end of The Waterfront?
In the final episode of The Waterfront, the complex love triangle involving Cane, Peyton, and Jenna concluded on a mixed-feeling note. Despite still being legally wed to other individuals, neither Cane nor Jenna found happiness in their tumultuous relationship, leaving it unresolved.
It appeared as though Cane was determined to focus on repairing his relationship with Peyton following Jenna’s breakup with him. The question remains if Peyton will be able to find it in her heart to forgive Cane for his infidelity. Nevertheless, the couple seems eager to make another attempt at their marriage.
Actor Jake Weary, who played Cane, shed light on the significance of the ending for the Buckley pair. According to Weary, “He’s letting go of that idyllic image of himself and his past,” he told Netflix. Furthermore, the actor stated, “He’s striving to be more mindful and available for his family.
As a gamer, I’ve always had this strong bond with Jenna’s character in the game. But when asked about my real-life feelings, the actor explained that he prioritized working on his complex relationship with Peyton. He emphasized, “When you have a family and a child, it’s not always straightforward. Sometimes, you need to rediscover your partner. Unfortunately, it took some unfortunate events like people passing away and Peyton almost getting torched for them to understand they can lean on each other.
