In the premiere of Season 2 of ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character Negan wields a fresh take on his famous weapon – an upgraded version of his bat named Lucille. This revamped tool, featuring noticeable changes compared to its predecessor, has sparked curiosity and excitement among fans. With the original Lucille being incinerated in the last season of ‘The Walking Dead’, viewers are now eager to discover what sets this new bat apart.
Intrigued by the updated version of Lucille in Negan during The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, Episode 1? Here’s what you should be aware of.
Negan’s new Lucille in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 1, explained
In The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, Episode 1, I’ve got myself a fresh Lucille, courtesy of The Croat. He, alongside the Dama, have strong-armed me into doing their dirty deeds. They’re holding my family – wife Annie and son Joshua – as leverage to keep me obedient. It’s a chilling reminder that even in this apocalyptic world, power plays and threats still rule the day.
According to The Croat, although the new Lucille remains similar in many aspects, he has incorporated some enhancements.
Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) employs his latest Lucille when attempting to bring together diverse factions in Manhattan to battle the New Babylon Federation. He positions the bat close to a man’s face, unwilling to relent even as the man grows agitated. The man attempts to take the bat and experiences an electric shock instead.
How is the new version of Lucille different from the old one?
The new Lucille is different from the old one, as it has some improvements, according to The Croat.
Among the enhancements on the latest Lucille design is a button on its handle. When this button is pressed, an intense electrical current is discharged that can stun or even kill anyone who comes into contact with it. Consequently, this upgraded bat enables Negan not only to keep beating his foes but also to inflict twice the damage by means of this electric shock.
It’s assumed that the weapon, given The Croat’s occupation as a renewable energy scientist, might have been related to his work. His research involved harnessing methane from deceased organisms for energy production purposes. Eventually, this endeavor evolved into experiments designed to restore power to Manhattan.
The Walking Dead: Dead City airs every Sunday on AMC.
