The new season promises to delve deeper into the stories of various characters, such as Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), adding layers and complexity to their journeys. In a recent tweet from The Walking Dead’s official account (X), Laurent seems to find himself in a precarious situation as he’s surrounded by a horde of walkers. Introduced in season 1, Laurent is believed to be humanity’s savior due to his unique condition – being born from an infected mother during pregnancy. His aunt Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), a nun, and the other nuns at the Abbey of Saint Bernadette have shielded him throughout his life, nurturing his innocence rather than teaching him survival skills. This has left Laurent quite naive to the harsh realities of the post-apocalyptic world.

Daryl (Norman Reedus) formed friendships with Laurent, who turned out to be his aunt, and other members of their group, The Union of Hope. True to his word, he escorted Laurent safely to the Next, which was The Union of Hope’s headquarters. However, he then embarked on a journey to return to the United States. But when he found out that Laurent had tagged along, he reconsidered and realized he was essential in France.
Laurent, having grown up surrounded by nurturing women, finds himself strongly attracted to a man like Daryl. In fact, he implores Daryl to bring him back to America. He admires and learns a lot from Daryl during their brief acquaintance. This is clear when he sneakily follows Daryl from the Nest without being noticed.
As a dedicated fan of “The Walking Dead,” I recently came across some intriguing insights about one of my favorite characters, Laurent. In an interview with Collider, David Zabel, the showrunner for Daryl Dixon, shared his thoughts on Laurent’s growth throughout the series, finding it particularly captivating. I think there’s going to be a lot of great action scenes in that second season, and also emotional. It’s going to be a really complete season of The Walking Dead.We see the character evolve through everything they’ve been through with Darryl. Then Carol’s going to come in, and that’s going to change a lot of things in a good way.
