This is fantastic news for enthusiasts of classic games or those whose relationships might suffer due to excessive gaming: DOKAPON! has returned!
Isn’t it a pity that aside from Mario Party, there aren’t many games capable of causing strife within families, marriages, and friendships? Worry not! The Japanese developer Sting is bringing back DOKAPON: Sword of Fury on January 21.
Aren’t you disappointed that games like Mario Party are often the only ones causing disputes among family, friends, and partners? Rest assured! The comeback of DOKAPON: Sword of Fury by Japanese developer Sting is set for January 21.
In this updated computer version, you’ll find a fusion of traditional board game mechanics with role-playing game elements, reminiscent of the original PlayStation release from 1998. This revamped edition will offer both English and Japanese language options for your gaming pleasure.
The remastered game came out on the Nintendo Switch in Japan last August; however, it remains uncertain whether the Switch edition will become available internationally anytime soon.
This game boasts itself as “the ultimate board game merged with an RPG,” where you and your companions engage in a quest to “overpower monsters, acquire weapons, and advance levels, similar to an RPG.” Your journey involves liberating the land from malevolent creatures. However, amidst this heroic endeavor, remember your primary objective: Achieving immense wealth!
Collaborate with fellow players or choose deceit – ultimately, the decision is yours on how to accumulate your wealth.
The remastered version also features:
- Online mode with autosave function to pause the game whenever you need.
- HD widescreen support for full immersion.
- Options to speed up the gameplay up to 5 times.
- A complete customizable game play to have the game in the unique way you always wanted to play.
- A mix of nostalgic 2D pixel art with enhanced 3D models.
On January 21st, the enhanced edition of Sting’s DOKAPON! Sword of Fury is set to debut on PC through Steam. However, whether or not the Nintendo Switch version will be launched globally remains unclear at this time.
