As a long-time Final Fantasy 14 player with countless hours under my belt, I’ve experienced the grind of leveling up various jobs through different methods. Each way has its unique charm and challenges that make the journey worthwhile.
At present, Final Fantasy features 22 jobs that can be played, with 20 of these needing extensive leveling up to reach the maximum limit. To help simplify your grinding experience in Square Enix’s renowned MMORPG, we have gathered various methods for earning experience points. To keep you motivated during your pursuit of the “Life of Adventure” Achievement, we suggest rotating among all jobs.
Duty Roulettes
At level 16, the Duty Roulette becomes a fantastic option for earning experience points each day. When you use it, you’ll be placed in various randomly selected instances and types of content, all while enjoying an increased experience bonus based on your current level.
If you’re aiming for the largest experience points reward, focusing on Leveling, Trials, Main Story quests, Alliance Raids, and Frontlines would be your best choices. Although you can only complete each Roulette once per day, this approach is the most efficient way to advance in your jobs.
Palace of the Dead
As a gamer in the 17-60 level bracket, I’ve discovered that grinding floor 50 of the Palace of the Dead is unmatched for efficiency. To access it, first, you need to obtain the “The House that Death Built” quest from New Gridania and complete its associated storyline. Once done, you’ll gain the ability to repeatedly enter the 50th floor, which is ideal for leveling up as a DPS character. When other methods run dry, this is an excellent way to progress. Additionally, hunting for Accursed Hoards on the side provides a nice bonus in the form of Gil earnings.
Wondrous Trails
At level 60, after finishing the quest “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs” in Idyllshire, Wondrous Trails becomes an excellent, effortless method to earn experience points. Obtaining the book from Khloe initiates this process. You can then gather stickers by accomplishing different tasks, many of which can be marked off through Roulettes. Another option includes soloing older raids and dungeons using the Unrestricted Party feature in the Duty Finder. Merely engaging with Wondrous Trails grants you approximately half a level’s worth of experience points for your current job.
Allied Society Quests
In each expansion of Final Fantasy 14, there are Society Quests, previously called Beast Tribe Quests. These tasks offer substantial experience points once maxed out. Although you can only accomplish three daily Society Quests per tribe, with a total of twelve daily quests spread across all levels, the amount of experience earned is considerable with minimal input.
Dungeons
For those playing a Tank or Healer role, joining the highest-level dungeon queue is an efficient method for leveling up. With a well-coordinated group, you can swiftly advance towards the maximum level by repeatedly clearing dungeons. A competent party can complete a dungeon in under 10 minutes, and the experience points earned are not insignificant.
Bozja’s Southern Front/Zadnor
For players looking to level between 71 and 90, DPS Bozja’s Southern Front and Zadnor offer a relaxed experience. While not the most efficient method, it requires minimal effort. By focusing on FATEs and occasional boss battles, you can gradually advance and potentially earn some extra income along the way.
Shared FATEs
Grinding FATEs (Fates of Fortune) in the new zones may not be very efficient with time, but it’s an effective way to earn experience points and make some extra money. The Bicolor Gemstones you obtain can be utilized to buy raw crafting materials which are often in demand on the marketboard, generating a profit. If you have maxed out the Shared FATEs in an expansion, you can exchange these Gemstones for vouchers, which can also be sold.
